Ed Helms sells Manure, meets Dave, visits Museum

The Office has left network television lacking for the summer. But in the meantime, Ed Helms (he of anger managing Andy Bernard fame) will be taking more roles to the big screen. Helms will play Chet, a womanizing merchant, in Mark and Michael Polish’s Manure, an indie comedy about a group of manure salesmen set in the heart of 1960's America.

The film stars Billy Bob Thornton as well, and began filming May 27. Téa Leoni and Kyle MacLachlan have been cast too. The first of two endeavors for the Polish twins' Prohibition Films this summer, who will begin filming Stay Cool on July 14.

Helms will also appear as one of Ben Stiller’s co-workers in Night at the Museum II: Escape from the Smithsonian. Shawn Levy will direct and produce, and begins filming in Vancouver this month. Fans can look forward to seeing Helms this summer in the new Eddie Murphy movie Meet Dave on July 11, and then later on this winter in The Goods: The Don Ready Story, which stars Jeremy Piven.

No word yet on if any of these will showcase Helms’ flawless a cappella talents or his penchant for the banjo, but we can only hope.
