Harrison Ford to play scientist in Crowley

Harrison Ford will play a rogue scientist searching for the cure to a rare disease in CBS Films’ Crowley, Variety reports.

The film tells the story of John and Aileen Crowley, a couple whose children were diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. The Crowleys track down a scientist (Ford) who has discovered a possible cure for the disorder in a desperate race to save their children's lives. The film is based on a true story, which was first reported in the Wall Street Journal and later chronicled in Geeta Anand’s book The Cure.

What Happens in Vegas director Tom Vaughan is in negotiations to helm the picture, likely the first to be completed by the newly formed CBS Films division. Ford will also co-produce the film, which studio head Amy Baer is rushing to the front of the production line.

Hot off his fourth stint as ass-kicking, whip-cracking archaeologist Indiana Jones, Ford will be back on the big screen in August opposite Sean Penn in Crossing Over, a drama detailing the lives of immigrants of various nationalities and their struggle to obtain legal residency in Los Angeles.
