The tour begins immediately following the July 8th release of the final EP in Arthur’s 2008 series of four: Could We Survive (March 18th), Crazy Rain (April 15th), Vagabond Skies (June 10) and finally Foreign Girls (July 8). Together, the EPs form a double album of Arthur’s solo material, available on Lonely Astronaut Records.
The Akron, Ohio, native is also releasing a second LP, Temporary People, on September 16th with his band, Joseph Arthur & the Lonely Astronauts. In between recording a collection of EPs and a studio LP, Arthur also opened the Museum of Modern Arthur in Brooklyn. Affectionately called “MOMAR,” the gallery “encourages innovation and challenges convention,” according to its website.
