Kevin Spacey and independent films might sound a little bit like one of those weird, bottled fruit drinks you get at a convenience store; they're not exactly two flavors you might expect to go together. After all, he's just finished an array of big-name projects recently like 21 and Recount, and was everyone's favorite balding, villainous patriarch in Superman Returns. Looks like he's about to skew a little more towards the artistic side though, because it was just announced that he'll be starring in Shrink, directed by Jonas Pate.
Shrink is the story of a Hollywood therapist who loses confidence in his Freudian skills and starts hitting the chronic a little too hard in order to compensate. Co-stars who round out his clientele include Robin Williams, Gore Vidal, Dallas Roberts, Laura Ramsey and Mark Webber. The film has just begun production in L.A., and will probably be slated for release sometime late next year.
