The film world just can't seem to get enough of T.I.P. The ATL's King certainly has big things poppin' lately: right after news that he'll be converting his 1,000 hour community service sentence into a reality TV show, it's been revealed that Screen Gems authored a deal with him to star in the upcoming gangster flick Bone Deep along with Matt Dillon and Idris Elba. T.I. will also be producing with partner Jason Geter as part of their Grand Hustle Entertainment production company.
Bone Deep will be the first in a series of movies that Screen Gems has lined up for T.I., which constitutes a serious long-term investment in a man who is currently under house arrest, and facing community service and a yearlong prison stint in 2009 for a recent firearms bust. The second film slated for him is titled Boulevard, with the third yet to be announced.
This isn't T.I.'s first shot at the silver screen. The Atlanta native has starred in (appropriately enough) The ATL and, more recently, Ridley Scott's drug-dealer epic American Gangster.
His sixth album, Paper Trail, is set to drop on Aug. 12.
