Boondock Saints has contributed quite a bit to our cultural landscape. The image of Willem Dafoe as an opera-loving cross-dresser, for one, or the ever-enduring phrase, "Why don't you make like a tree and get the fuck out of here?" And don't forget the thousands of college students who would be forced to look at a blank wall if it weren't for their beloved posters of the brothers MacManus.
With all this adoration, you'd think a sequel would have been made five years ago, but no such luck. However, Troy Duffy, the original's writer/directer gave fans a ray of hope in an interview with a D.C. radio station recently.
In what sounded like the dorm-room ramblings of a bro who's taken one too many hits off the, erm, "tobacco product" pipe, Duffy said a sequel would begin filming in August. Oh, and he also managed to give away the entire plot.
Will the alleged sequel be any good? Will Dafoe reprise his role? Who else will return? We don't know, and it's not like we haven't heard this talk from Duffy before, but it can't hurt to throw back a few pints of Guinness in anticipation.

As you said, Duffy has been saying this for years. I'll believe it when I see it.
