Sacha Baron Cohen to produce (and star in?) Accidentes

In an accident? Injured and unable to work? In need of an ambulance-chasing comedic lawyer to help defend your rights? Sacha Baron Cohen may fill that role in a new movie, Accidentes, he's signed on to produce for Fox Atomic.

The lawyer in question will be of Latino descent (hence the Spanish title of the film), and Baron Cohen is reportedly eyeing the part himself. The story, by Borat co-writer Peter Baynham, involves an L.A. lawyer representing an immigrant worker who sues a wealthy landscaping client. The lawyer does not make many friends amongst the upper class, we imagine, but instead champions the working class while warming a few hearts.

Baron Cohen is one busy guy these days. On top of the Accidentes project, he’s just wrapped a starring role as—what else?—an outrageous fashion reporter in Universal Pictures’ Bruno. Then there’s the starring role in Dreamworks’ Dinner For Schmucks, and the role as Sherlock Holmes to Will Ferrell’s Watson in a Columbia Pictures flick. Phew.

Regardless of whether producer Baron Cohen takes on the role of lawyer-turned-hero, movie audiences will be seeing a lot of him soon. Or calling him at 1-800-LAYWERS.
