False alarm: Brian Eno will not appear with David Byrne on three shows in Byrne's upcoming tour, confirms Byrne's publicist.
The two are collaborating on an album that they have finished mixing, marking the first joint Eno/Byrne effort since My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, originally released in 1981, and later reissued in 2006 on Nonesuch Records. Byrne's full tour dates are yet to be announced, but a Sept. 20 date at Atlanta's Chastain Park has been confirmed, as have a Sept. 26 Austin City Limits stop and another on Oct. 4 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The forthcoming album will feature appearances by Leo Abrahams and Sebastian Rochford. Find behind-the-scenes accounts of the making of the album on Abrahams' blog. For instance, Byrne and Eno worked on different versions of the same songs in separate studios, and then sent them to Abrahams.
Here's to hoping the two might change their minds in order to take that duo show on the road.
