He's Chevy Chase, and you're not. Too bad, because if you were, you'd be hosting the Newport JVC Jazz Festival for a second time. The SNL and National Lampoon
alum will be emceeing for the festival's main stage, introducing class
acts like Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock and Sonny Rollins. Quite a fit, especially given Chase's past a jazz drummer before being discovered by a humble man known as Lorne Michaels.
The Newport JVC Jazz festival runs from Aug. 8-10, at the
International Tennis Hall of Fame and Fort Adams State Park.
Coincidentally, this is the same festival series
where Mos Def performed. A jazz festival might not be the kind of place
you'd expect it to happen, but don't even try to deny that a Mos Def /
Chevy Chase collaboration would be the greatest thing, well, ever.
