I'm From Barcelona prep Harry Houdini for Oct.

| | Comments (0)
While there are few statistics to back this up, a large chunk of the bands in this world assumedly started when three or four friends get together in a garage or a warehouse or something and just start jamming. Emanuel Lundgren wasn’t having any bit of this. No, he thought, “I like this sound, but it needs about 25 more people.” And with that, I’m From Barcelona was born.
The band, from the portion of Barcelona that lies in Jönköping, Sweden, had a 2007 indie-pop critical darling of an album with its debut LP, Let Me Introduce My Friends. And now the crew is at it again, with newly announced part-concept album Who Killed Harry Houdini? (partially based on Lundgren's fascination with Houdini and partially on his own time as an ameteur magician), due Oct. 14.

The gang also released the album’s track listing:
1. Andy
2. Paper Planes
3. Headphones
4. Music Killed Me
5. Gunhild (feat. SoKo)
6. Mingus
7. Ophelia
8. Houdini
9. Little Ghost
10. Rufus

And if this is too long to quench your 29-piece power-pop hunger, check out this video of the album’s first single “Paper Planes”  (unrelated to the M.I.A. song of same name, but if she snuck in somewhere between members 22 and 25, would you really notice?) performed at Coachella:
