Jenny Lewis reveals Acid Tongue LP, tracklist, tour

| | Comments (0)
Balancing a solo career while you're in a band can be a difficult proposition. Oftentimes, artists use their best material for their solo albums, and their work with the band suffers as a result. Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis seems to have a real knack for it, though, deftly planting a foot on each side of that line of scrimmage and earning critical acclaim and commercial success for just about anything she lays her hands on. Having shed the Watson Twins like so many rabbit fur coats, Lewis has emerged from the Sound City Studios in the valleys of Los Angeles to unleash her newest solo offering: Acid Tongue.
A press release from Warner Bros. Records tells all. The album will feature a cavalcade of collaborations with class acts like Elvis Costello, Johnathan Rice, the she (Zooey Deschanel) and him (M. Ward) of She & Him, and Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. The tracklist:

1. Black Sand
2. Pretty Bird
3. Bad Man's World
4. Acid Tongue
5. See Fernando
6. Godspeed
7. Carpetbaggers
8. Trying My Best to Love You
9. Jack Kills Mom
10. Sing a Song for Them

Acid Tongue is due this September on Warner, followed by a supporting tour across the Midwest. Arch-bard Conor Oberst will be joining her for a few of those dates, so catch them if you can for a doulbe dose of folky goodness:
