MTV Films has unveiled a new project, and it involves a transvestite, sequins and synchronized audience dancing to "The Time Warp." That’s right, it’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in two-hour TV movie redux.
Details are sparse. The plan is to use the original script from the movie released in 1975, but to possibly include some music that was not in the original film. No cast or director has been announced, and no production timetable has been formulated.
Lou Adler, the executive producer of the 1975 version, said he’d like to see the new TV movie released on Halloween 2009.
The blogosphere response to MTV’s announcement has been swift and negative, with many Rocky Horror fans bemoaning MTV’s besmirching the cult classic. Development will likely continue anyway. The original film, starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, has grossed $140 million domestically since its release over 30 years ago.

I consider this confirmation of televisions essential death (not that there was any doubt in my mind already.)
But seriously....using the original script? They can't even be bothered to revise or edit it?
It's done. The FCC should start revoking broadcast licences based on a lack of original programming.
