Neko Case to tour with, without New Pornographers

When busy bee Neko Case hurt her ankle during this spring's New Pornographers tour with Okkervil River, faces fell long from coast to coast. The alt.country enchantress was to miss a number of dates supporting 2007's Challengers, and really, what's a Porno show without its chanteuse?

The drought's end brings Hurricane Case. The spring "Good News" sampler from creative arts magazine Esopus comes with a duet by Neko and co-Porno Carl Newman called "Yon Ferrets Return."

And even without any new album announced to follow up Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, a solo tour is in order for all who missed their fix in April. Two New Pornographer sets (rarities these days) hide in the September mix for eagle-eyed fans looking for power-pop gems within the two-month twang of solo material.
