[Above: James Marsden and Cameron Diaz in The Box]
For
people who just received a box that could grant them $1 million, Arthur and Norma Lewis (James Marsden, Cameron Diaz) sure look a bit worried. That's probably because if
they push the box's button, an anonymous person will die somewhere on
the planet. And they've got 24 hours to decide. Tension = justified.

No Worries...
The test screening received a positive reaction.
The film is being scored by members of the band Arcade Fire(Win Butler - Owen Pallet - Regine Chassagne).
And Warner Bros wants to release the film in the Fall time-frame, and the film wasn't going to be ready for 2008, so they decided to hold the film for 2009.
It's that simple.
Hmm, that doesn't really assuage me. Don't get me wrong, I actually consider Kelly the most interesting filmmaker to begin his or her career this decade, but I don't have too much faith in his ability to work with a studio. Last time one of his films was left to wait that long it received another crap distribution run and was highly re-edited (and after talking to him it was pretty clear to me that what was released was by no means a "director's cut").
The advantage Kelly has now is that $30 million is harder for a studio to throw down the drain, but if this film is as idiosyncratic as his previous ones I wouldn't be surprised to see it get another quiet, though larger, release with little publicity.
this idea is a total rip off of an twilight episode (not the old black and white one but the one back in the 80-s/90s).
i can already tell you the twist.
Blockhead:
It's not a "rip off", Kelly already said he was BASING this movie off of Matheson's short story and the Twilight Zone episode. It's no secret. And you can't tell anyone the "twist" because Kelly expanded on the original story and put in his own twists.
