Ryan Adams and the Cardinals add tour dates

Follow the lights this fall to catch Ryan Adams and the Cardinals on a string of new tour dates— purportedly ramping up to a fall release from the band.

The new record, floating somewhere in the ether of limbo with the purported Ryan Adams box set, poetry/prose book, and art show, is at least some glimmer of hope in the not so peaceful valley of the 13 months and 29 days since Adams’ last release (supported by, but not accredited to, Adams’ fellow Cardinals).

If the Cardinals are strangers to you now, then brace yourself for the subtle name change to, simply, Cardinals. Dropping Adams' authorial stamp and eschewing the desire to call themselves The (definitive) Cardinals, these boys seem to prefer the promise of anonymity in the cardinal world already so buoyed by the membership of bishops, birds, football and baseball players, directions, vowels, veins, trains and grapes.

Cardinals are Ryan Adams (vocals, guitar, keys), Neal Casal (guitar, vocals), Chris “Space Wolf” Feinstein (bass), Jon Graboff (pedal steel) and Brad Pemberton (drums).
