The Hold Steady drink beer and play darts with Vice

At this point in their careers, the members of The Hold Steady have become more or less synonymous with boozing and fist pumping, which is a feat most of us (Andrew W.K. excluded) can only dream of accomplishing someday.

In keeping with that image, the group recently played VBS in a bar game challenge, which included, amongst other shenanigans, winner/loser tattoos.

The result was everything a heady Hold Steady brew should consist of: vulgar language, Jager shots, and Franz Nicolay's mustache.

To see who reigns victorious, check out the video below:

Since the band released Stay Positive earlier this month, the album has reached #30 on the Billboard 200 chart, and The Hold Steady has received an increasing amount of national attention. In a recent appearance on the David Letterman show, the band was featured in a skit where comedian Andy Kindler speculates Craig Finn will embody "the brooding sexuality of Jim Morrison and the golden locks of Robert Plant." Upon meeting Finn for the first time, Kindler remarks, "You look like me! Why am I not a rock star?" Finn's reply? "Well, I don't know, maybe you're doing something wrong."
