The Streets prep LP, release single, announce tour

Geezers need excitement, especially us geezers here at Paste. We're looking to get some of that with The Streets' latest, Everything is Borrowed. As usual, Mike Skinner refuses to stick to the same old thing and has taken a much different approach with this album, describing it as having "peaceful positive vibes."

The album is scheduled hit shelves Sept. 30. Need your excitement sooner, geezer? You can download a free MP3 of Borrowed's first single (and bit of a slow jam, at that) "The Escapist," here.

Skinner recently released a statement about the song's accompanying video, which follows his backside as he traverses through France. "During a period of intense mixing we decided that it might be nice to shoot a video," he said. "It was totally different from any other video that I've made in that it was something real that we just filmed rather than trying to create something real looking using lots of people and lots of angles. I feel like it's more than a video in that sense."

The Streets will be on tour to promote the album through November, albeit only in Europe. For fans that don't live in the EU, dry your eyes. We can only stay positive Mr. Skinner will make trip to this side of the pond. In fact, we hope he wouldn't have it any other way.
