Whichever presidential candidate finds himself the winner this November will be honored with an additional prize: a track, available for digital download, to supplement Of Great and Mortal Men: 43 Songs for 43 Presidencies, now with an official Sept. 9 release date.
The three-disc compilation, in doing precisely what its name suggests, features such whimsically-titled tracks as
"Martin Van Buren: The Little Magician," and "John Adams: Armed With
Only Wit and Vigor and the U.S. Navy."
Its songwriters Christian Kiefer, Matthew Gerken and Jefferson Pitcher have brought aboard additional artists to get all historical, including Bill Callahan (Smog), Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), Tom Carter (Charalambides), Vince DiFiore (Cake), Alan Sparhawk (Low), and Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon), amongst others.
Until then, have a quick listen and place bets on the subject of track 44.

Where Have All The Weird Girls Gone?…

I'm surprised Sufjan Stevens didn't get on this... :-)
Heck, I'd just be happy for another state from him... maybe we's gonna release a bunch right in a row?

We tried to include Sufjan but it just didn't work out. If you're into Sufjan, you'll dig much of this album, for sure.
