A.C. Newman doesn't have any novel erotica for the masses just yet, but he's more than willing to serve up a guilty verdict on his own complicity in the erosion of Puritanical values. Specifically, Get Guilty, the second solo offering from the New Pornographer's leading man.
After employing Jon Wurster (Superchunk, The Mountain Goats) on drums and Nicole Atkins (Nicole Atkins and the Sea) on vocals for a few of the album's metaphor-drenched outings, Newman finished mixing the disc last month, and has already vowed to get right back in the booth once he's finished to start working on the next New Pornographers album.
The New Pornos have a smattering of dates this fall in Canada, the US, and Australia to sow some power-pop smut before ostensibly assembling in the studio to record a follow up to 2007's Challengers. Get Guilty has a tentative release date of January 2009 on Matador.
