Andrew Bird teases fans with October mini-tour
Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of indie rocker Andrew Bird this fall are in luck
that is, if they live in the New York and New England region. Bird just announced a small handful of tour dates in October.
October
2 - Tarrytown, N.Y. @ Music Hall
3 - Bethlehem, Pa. @ Baker Hall
4 - Ithaca, N.Y. @ State Theater
6 - New York, N.Y. @ Hiro Ballroom
7 - New York, N.Y. @ Hiro Ballroom
8 - Portsmouth, N.H. @ The Music Hall
9 - Albany, N.Y. @ The Egg
10 - Northampton, Mass. @ Calvin Theatre
Considering Armchair Apocrypha came out in March of 2007, these dates are probably all she wrote for 2008. Luckily, the Chicago native is on record as saying he’s been working on a new album since February, tentatively titled A Non-Animal. The album already has one cheerleader in its corner: Bird himself. Bird posted an entry at the New York Times Measure for Measure blog revealing his candid insights on his as-yet unfinished album:
“I
listened to my record recently and I’m concerned about how much I like
it," he wrote. "This has never happened to me at this stage of making a
record. Right about now is usually when I want to scrap the whole thing
and start over. In fact, scrapping whole records has become par for the
course for me when recording.”
A Non-Animal is rumored for a Spring 2009 release.
