Bradford Cox announces new Atlas Sound album, Logos

Bradford Cox sure writes some fun blog posts. We've said it before and we'll very likely say it again as long as he keeps updating, but it's unlikely that dude was bad at sharing as a child. And as long as he keeps making music, he'll eventually steal the Golden Belt of Prolificacy away from Robert Pollard, Ryan Adams or whomever else is flaunting it these days.

In his latest e-missive, the Deerhunter/Atlas Sound frontman talks about hanging out at Target with his mom, how fun it is opening for Nine Inch Nails, how we should "expect some surprises" with the physical release of Deerhunter's excellent new album, Microcastle, and much more. Oh yeah, and there is some fresh Atlas Sound noise coming fairly soon:

"There is a new Atlas Sound album almost completely finished," Cox writes. "It is called 'Logos' and it will be released sometime in the new year."

There you have it. Read Cox's full post for more, including this awesome photo of him at age 10 with his mom and his first guitar, the latter which "was later smashed by a neighborhood bully under the influence of huffing glade and watching a Danzig video." Ah, the rock 'n' roll lifestyle.

Watch Cox perform the song "Logos" (what we can only assume will be the title track to the new album) a couple weeks ago at Southstreet Seaport in New York City:
