Bradford Cox's uncensored blog posts can be informative, whiny, excited, grateful, often apologetic, and frequently (very frequently) include free downloads of mix tapes, virtual 7" singles and individual tracks from one of his two main projects, Deerhunter and Atlas Sound. The site reads like stream of consciousness, letting every fan in on his every musical and emotional move.
Last night, a bit more blog drama hit the fan(s) when Cox accidentally allowed access to the entirety of Logos, his forthcoming Atlas Sound album, as well as the unmastered version of secret bonus material intended to accompany Deerhunter's Microcastle, while (deliberately) posting an Atlas Sound virtual 7".
Now, two records Cox was saving for well-timed releases are circulating around the interwebs, and he's not happy about it. This, judging from the subsequent series of blog posts made in response to the material's circulation on fan forums, in which Cox literally and figuratively gave the internet a big middle finger. (Stereogum has the deleted posts here.)
In the end, little harm was done and the threats of Logos cancellation were rescinded, but for an artist who's already been subjected to his fair share of untimely record leaks and unusual publicity, this must be hard pill for Cox to swallow.

I love the picture of Bradford "pissed off at the internet" he put up later.
He's classy--the middle finger to the world. Gotta blame someone I guess. Might as well be someone else.
After using mediafire for so long to distribute songs to the public, you think he'd avoid putting important docs on mediafire, seeing how accessible it can be.
