In a frillier round of movies being made into games, Legacy Interactive has announced it will make three nostalgic classics—Clueless, Pretty in Pink and Mean Girls—into video games for girls. The movies, all nine years apart, will borrow story elements and will be downloadable in December.

Producer Don Marshall emphasized the idea of fun to MTV: "“I am afraid that a lot of people who make games for girls emphasize the wrong part of that sentence—for girls—and leave the games part out a little bit.”

So what does "games for girls" mean, exactly? According to MTV Multiplayer, the player's goal in Clueless is for the protagonist (Alicia Silverstone's character, in this case) to dress her pals up in the style of the guy whose eye they want to catch. Pretty in Pink will offer alternate endings as players take on Molly Ringwald's role, with Mean Girls playing like Puzzle Quest. So while the games aren't aiming for pink, they sure reek of staple teenage-girl activities.
