Deerhunter adds tour dates, Microcastle to iTunes

All he wanted to do was give away some free music, as he often does via his blog, and what happens? The "Virtual 7" No.4" he intended to pass along to fans somehow morphed into the passage of his entire MediaFire account contents, including many unfinished demos and Weird Era Cont., what was supposed to be a surprise bonus disc included with the upcoming release of Microcastle.

Although the published version of his grieving process has since been deleted, Cox did post a message to fans on his blog apologizing for his response to the leak and has made it abundantly clear that he's "the one who fucked up".

He's just been having one of those weeks.

As if that's not enough, Microcastle, Deerhunter's third LP due out on Oct. 28, is now available on iTunes as a digital exclusive. In case you're in a time warp, currently, it's August. The physical form of the album will still be in stores come late October, but whether or not Weird Era Cont. will be included remains uncertain.

For now, fans that feel bad for downloading his stuff can take solace in coughing up some cash to see him live since Deerhunter just added a copious number of shows.
