Eagles of Death Metal order up new album shaken, stirred

The Eagles of Death Metal will release their latest album this fall, and the band members have vowed to deliver a batch of  “neck-lickin, boot-scootin, soul-scratchin, ass-shakin party tunes” that will rock our world.
EODM recorded their 2006 sophomore album Death by Sexy after frontman Jesse “The Devil” Hughes returned from a spiritual retreat at a religious dance monastery. Hughes made quite an impression on his teachers, so much so that “after hearing his falsetto unforgetto and seeing that boy slang guitar, the Funk Monks gave him a new name, Boots Electric! It illuminates power and gives pleasure to all who gaze upon his Moustache of Mystery.”

The mustachioed messiah and his bandmate Baby Duck (AKA: Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme) will be resurrected once more when their latest record, Heart On, is released Oct. 21 via Downtown Recordings. In a recent statement, the band promised followers that the upcoming album would quench their thirst for danceable beats with tunes that are “booty-shaked, stirred and served chilled in a tall glass. It goes down smooth every time.”

Hughes also perfected the ancient martial arts move known as the “tongue in cheek” during his monastery stay, because as a true fan knows, EODM are far from a real death metal act. The band’s music and part of its moniker are influenced by The Eagles, and the band member's approximation of what Don Henley and Co. would have sounded like if they had ever strayed into harder, darker, louder musical territory. Dethlok this duo is not.

EODM will be hitting the road in September with The Hives, and has a full-blown world tour in the works for later this year. Be sure to catch one of this goofy band's live shows this fall: you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll dance, and, most importantly, “your ears will orgasm with every glorious groove.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
