Michael Ian Black, Showalter prep Comedy Central show

When people watch the popular I Love the... series on VH1, they often wonder what gives the commentators the authority to ramble on about cultural touchstones such as Bonnie Tyler music videos, Saturday morning cartoons and Kewpie dolls. The answer is easy: they're famous(ish)! Shouldn't that be enough? For those of you that don't agree, you have to at least admit some of them bring humor along with their moderate celebrity.

One such commentator is Michael Ian Black. And if you've been having separation anxiety since the last round of I Love the..., fret no more. He will be joining The State and Stella BFF Michael Showalter in a new sketch comedy, Michael and Michael Have Issues, on Comedy Central. It will be a show within a show, in which Black and Showalter play themselves and address issues they "have with themselves, each other and the world at large."

They duo recently added Josh Pais to the cast. He plays Jim Biederman, their executive producer. And, get ready for this, his character is named for one of the project's actual producers. Snap!

Currently, a premiere date is unknown, but we'll keep you posted.
