When Paste decided
to expand our coverage of signs of life in music, film and culture to the local
level in vibrant cities around the U.S. with a new initiative called
Paste:Local, the choice for our inaugural stop was obvious. Our hometown of Atlanta, Ga.,
boasts a music scene spanning indie rock, hip-hop, country and more, and its
film and visual arts communities are growing more vital all the time. From
national stars to up-and-coming sensations to hidden treasures, Atlanta’s got a
lot to offer—and Paste:Local Atlanta is here to bring you the best of the best
in local live music, album releases, cultural events, film festivals, art, food
and more.
So far, we’ve caught up with Amy Ray, Fringe Binge-d and
basked in the weirdness of two of Atlanta’s
favorite rock bands. In the coming weeks, you’ll find more artist profiles,
Elvis Presley death day celebration coverage and even some field reports from
Dragon*Con. Plus, we’ll be rolling out an expanded, local version of our
Informer, so you’ll always know what’s happening in Atlanta today.
But we’re not stopping here, so stay tuned-- maybe soon we’ll be covering signs of life in music, film and culture in
your neck o' the woods!

Doesn't that guy in the picture work at the Brick Store?
Why yes, yes he does. He's also a recent Paste Artist of the Week.
