Patty Griffin to digitally release live album

On Feb. 6, 2007, songstress Patty Griffin performed an invitation-only show in New York City on the same day that her album Children Running Through was released. Joining her on stage for one night only were keyboardist Ian McLagan and a string quintet.

We weren’t invited, and we don’t know anyone who was. Luckily, though, the whole thing was recorded by Artists Den Records. The digital CD, Patty Griffin: Live From The Artists Den, will be released Sept. 9.

The CD features 16 tracks recorded at the Angel Orensanz Center for the Arts, including two covers: Sam Cooke’s “Get Yourself Another Fool” and "J'irai La Voir Un Jour," a French traditional tune (“I Will See It, One Day,” for you English-speakers).

Children Running Through went on to become Griffin’s most successful album to date.
