Warner Bros., owners of the Harry Potter franchise, have confirmed that they are indeed suing the makers of an Indian film called Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors about a young boy trying to protect a secret formula created by his father from a couple of criminals.
Producer Munish Purii maintains that their film bears no resemblence to the wizard
phenom, telling Reuters, "All I can say is that the title is not at all similar to Harry Potter and nor is our story line." But Warner Bros. begs to differ, and feels as though the international flick borrows
too much from the Potter world. The studio told Reuters in their own statement that they "value and protect intellectual property rights," and will move forward with their claims.
You can decide for yourself when Hari Puttar opens Sept. 12. But either way, the Delhi High Court started proceedings on Monday with both Warner and Mirchi Movies, producers of Puttar.

Where Have All The Weird Girls Gone?…

And now thanks to Universal, I now want to see a movie that previously I had never heard of and likely never would have. Not that it matters I suppose because every Indian movie I've ever seen, I've downloaded.
