Snow Patrol unleashes A Hundred Million Suns in October

Snow Patrol unleashes A Hundred Million Suns in October
Irish rockers Snow Patrol are probably hoping a little of the magic from legendary acts such as U2, David Bowie and Iggy Pop rub off on their latest record, A Hundred Million Suns. The quintet partly recorded its fifth album at the famous Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany where such classics as U2’s Achtung Baby were born. The band just announced the new album is due in stores Oct. 28, while the first single “Take Back the City” will hit radio a few weeks prior.

The band has enjoyed a semi-meteoric rise to the top given the mega-success of several hit singles, most notably “Chasing Cars” off 2006’s platinum-selling Eyes Open album. Whether the band can replicate that success on the new album remains to be seen, but lead singer Gary Lightbody for one is optimistic. "I’m so proud of this record,” Lightbody says on the band's website. “[It is] musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we’ve made.”

A worldwide tour following the record’s release is likely. Stay tuned for tour dates.
