It's been a long, long 16 years since Kevin Shields and My Bloody Valentine bandmates last washed us with their waves of heavenly distortion. But at long last, the All Tomorrow's Parties festival
is providing the seminal group a magical weekend to host a blowout of early-90s noise jams, September 19-21 in upstate New York.
In addition to the kings of dream pop themselves, Built To Spill, Thurston Moore, The Meat Puppets, Low, Yo La Tengo, and Dinosaur Jr.
are all slated to drop octaves of grinding nostalgia up in the Catskills. The three former will perform their seminal albums in track order on Friday as part of the festival's Don't Look Back celebration; the latter three will take the stage Sunday as part of My Bloody Valentine's personally curated block of the fest.
And while Loveless doesn't exactly inspire giddy laughter, the
weekend will also host a comedy stage on Friday, featuring 1/2 of The
Comedians of Comedy, Patton Oswalt and Maria Bamford. Check out the full schedule here, and get those tickets while you can: 3-day passes are
still available as of press time.
