Bettany and Connelly sign on for Darwin biopic Creation

Most of the cast has been announced for the much-anticipated Charles Darwin biopic Creation. John Collee adapted the script from Annie's Box, a book by Randal Keynes, Darwin's great great grandson. The film will be directed by Jon Amiel.

Real-life married couple Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany have just been announced to play on-screen husband and wife as Charles Darwin and his wife Emma.

Hollywood Reporter says the film "portrays Darwin as a man torn between his love for his deeply religious wife and his own growing belief in a world where God has no place. The scientist finds himself caught in a struggle between faith and reason, love and truth."

Although the actress playing the key role of the daughter Annie has yet to be announced, Jeremy Northam, Toby Jones and Benedict Cumberbatch have been cast. Shooting starts at the end of this month in England.
