Zach Galifianakis to get Hangover, Bored to Death
According to Arrested Development alum David Cross, Zach Galifianakis isn't worth paying attention to. "He’s just a fucking standup comic!" Cross told Paste recently.
But apparently Galifianakis doesn't pay heed to those with less hair than him. In spite of Cross' sarcastic desires for that North Carolinian to know his place, the man's film/TV dance card continues to fill up. Visioneers; Little Fish, Strange Pond; Youth in Revolt; and G-Force were already projects we knew about, and now news comes of two more lead roles: one in Todd Phillips' comedy The Hangover and another in HBO pilot Bored to Death. In the former, Galifianakis will star with Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms in a friends-lose-the-groom-in-Las-Vegas-before-the-wedding romp (even with What Happens In Vegas barely lost from short-term memory), while the latter will see him as a struggling comic-book artist who's best friend to a Jason Schwartzman-played alcoholic writer pretending to be a private eye. Oh, and Ted Danson stars as well. Sounds like that good ol' Galifianakis mix of one-offing one-liners and bona fide role acting to us.
