Howlies play CMJ, tour, plan Jan. 2009 debut LP

Following the August release of their successful Sea Level EP, Atlanta garage rockers Howlies are set to drop their full-length debut, Trippin' with Howlies, in Jan. 2009. The album apparently took only three days to record and is being teased with a free song giveaway: download "Chimera" here.

Here at Paste, we're plenty excited about the full-length release, but what really gets us excited is the full tour the boys are currently on. The Nashville Scene wasn't lying when it observed that the band "brought jaws to the floor with breakneck rhythmic ferocity, ghoulish gang vocals and compositional twists and turns."

The Howlies play their last CMJ show, the "On the Moon Party," tonight at 11 p.m. at Death By Audio in Brooklyn. Joining them is The Ettes, Dirty on Purpose, The Jealous Girlfriends and Cheeseburger. If cheeseburgers aren't your thing, they're also offering free beer! And the show is free with RSVP, so what're you waiting for? Email cmj@onthemoonmusic.com.
