Fresh off the heels of a critically acclaimed performance in Rachel Getting Married, Anne Hathaway has nabbed a role in Tim Burton's next film, alongside Burton mainstay Johnny Depp.
Hathaway will play the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland, Burton's new project for Disney. Also joining the project is Burton's fiancee and frequent collaborator, Helena Bonham Carter, who will play Hathaway's sister as the Red Queen. You know the one:"Off with their heads!" Depp is set to play the Mad Hatter.

Other cast announcements include little-known Australian actress Mia Wasikowska (In Treatment) as Alice. The film is reportedly due in 2010 and will include both live action and performance-caption technology.
