Avett Brothers headline Chicago's CBGB Festival

It's not quite the resuscitation of that famous Manhattan venue, but a different CBGB is coming this fall to satisfy musical needs.

The first ever Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival will be a single-day affair at the Congress Theater on Nov. 22. Avant-bluegrass favorites The Avett Brothers headline along with The David Grisman Quintet, while performances from Mike Mangoine, Ha Ha Tonka and Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials help round out the line-up.

And it's a marriage of arts and altruism to boot. The festival benefits the Saving Tiny Hearts Society, an organization committed to funding research about congenital heart defects (CHD), the most common birth defect in America, affecting one out of every 125 American babies yearly.
