Recently, Lexus (yes, the car maker) launched its very own web-based short comedy series and Internet channel called LStudio.com. Lisa Kudrow is right in the middle of it all, playing Fiona Wallice, a scatterbrained shrink, on the channel's show Web Therapy.
Kudrow, who wrote and produced Therapy, re-teamed with her The Opposite of Sex director Don Roos, who directs all episodes of the show. The 15 episodes feature Bob Balaban, Jane Lynch, Rashida Jones, Tim Bagley and Dan Bucatinsky as Kudrow's five patients.
Sandy Blanchard, who oversees L Studio, says they plan to learn from
the faults of former web channel Bud.TV, who reportedly lost $30
million in their attempt to crack web television. Blanchard wouldn't
reveal L Studio's budget, but has admitted that it is far lower than that
of the Budweiser channel.
But Therapy isn't the only show synced up with L Studio. Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City) joins the site in October with Puppy Love, a show about people's relationships with their dogs. Love is set to star Famke Janssen, Janel Moloney and Heather Burns and will run for 40 episodes.
