Imagine an eight-CD, two-DVD set that holistically covers the first decade of Neil Young's career (1963 to 1972) and includes rare recordings, performances, footage and personal letters, complete with a 150-page book. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, turns out it may be.
Due to unspecific production issues, the first installment of Young's Archives has been delayed yet again, to an unknown date in 2009 (supposedly in January or February). Reportedly in the works for over a decade, Archives was set to debut in 2007 and then in the fall of this year. It's not all bad news, though. Young's 22-track live album Sugar Mountain (circa 1968) will hit stores Nov. 25.
