The Killers to tour early next year
The Killers are kicking the pre-release buzz for their forthcoming Day & Age album into high gear. Following the debut of the video for lead single "Human" (which showcases Brandon Flowers in a bizarre feathery jacket) and an appearance on Saturday Night Live, the Las Vegas-based band have announced it will hit the road come January.
The synth-tastic single "Human" reverts back to the sound of the band's first album (despite Flowers thinking the Bruce Springsteen-inspired Sam's Town was "one of the best albums of the last 20 years,") and has had some fans scratching their heads over the lyrics of its chorus: "Are we human, or are we dancer?"
Turns out Flowers was channeling a famous quote from the enigmatic gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, who said America was raising a generation of dancers. Surely that same generation will turn out to support the band when it kicks off its three-week mini tour.
