FourTrack audio app for iPhone enables portable recording

Good news for those of you aspiring or established musicians who feel the urge to record and mix a track while standing at the checkout counter at the grocery store or waiting to board a flight home: a new iPhone application has got you covered!

The FourTrack app lives up to its namesake, allowing the music-minded iPhone/iPod Touch owner to record and mix up to four tracks on the fly. It also effectively replaces the popular single track app, Recorder. FourTrack costs $10 and is available for purchase now. The app features auto-saving and the feature of transferring the iWAV file of each song to any computer in your WiFi network.

In a positive review of the app, Wired said the following: "There's no way it'll replace your main recording setup, but then again, you can't put your main recording setup in your pocket." They also go on to say the FourTrack app is "a sketch pad, not a canvas." An insanely high-tech sketch pad, that is.
