During the wait for Grizzly Bear's followup to 2006 opus Yellow House, we've been somewhat assuaged by covers touch-up Friend and Department of Eagles' In Ear Park from Grizzly's Daniel Rossen (and his old NYU roommate Fred Nicolaus). But we hadn't really slaked our thirst for album details until a recent interview Grizzly Bear founder Ed Droste gave Drowned in Sound.
To keep things interesting, here's the news in the format of icebreaker game Two Truths and a Lie:A) The album is scheduled to be finished in early December and released in April or May of 2009.
B) The album will be debuted at a New York performance (a la Animal Collective) with tickets available only by Googling Ursus arctos horribilis.
C) The album includes a children's choir on a handful of songs, which are the last ones being mixed and mastered.
A) The album will feature found sound from three different natural disasters, including an earthquake, a flood and a fire because "we're trying to connect more with primitive forces on this album."
B) The album will feature drums more prominently and be "faithful to our live sound, whilst still keeping the texture and layers we enjoy."
C) The album features a "much more collaborative approach to the songwriting" than on Yellow House, when most songs were written individually by Rossen or Droste before being brought to the group.
A) The album will include a backing vocal from Beach House's Victoria LeGrand.
B) The album will likely include orchestral arrangements from neo-classical composer Nico Muhly.
C) The album will likely include djembe playing from Grizzly Bear fan Paul Simon.

(Yeah, the lies are B, A and C.)
