LCD Soundsystem album finished in James Murphy's head

LCD Soundsystem album finished in James Murphy's head

Disco's not dead: LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy was quick to put the kibosh on his band's rumored breakup, and took the opportunity to chat with NME about a followup to 2007's  Sound of Silver.

Murphy revealed that he's already composed eight tracks for LCDS's third offering, and will be keeping them locked securely in his head until he's in the booth: "When I start recording I don't tell anyone not even my manager. I'll go away for a month to a studio outside [New York City] and do it."

Murphy was tight-lipped on when he'll start recording or a possible release date but hopefully it'll be soon, if only for his mental health: "I get to a point where there are too many songs and I have to get them recorded. I recently felt that. I've got eight in my head - that's critical mass."
