As Sara Miller revealed in our Artist of the Week primer on Lykke Li, the Swedish singer landed one of her first North American shows by convincing a New York booking agent that she was a big celebrity in her homeland. It was a sly bit of subterfuge, since practically no one, Swedish or otherwise, had heard her music at the time.
Now, thanks to ear-grabbing singles like "Little Bit" and "Dance
Dance Dance," Li is not just a major draw back home, but here in the
States as well. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy.
We're assuming her latest round of North American dates was secured
through entirely honest means, so feel free to attend and boogie in good conscience. Still, be warned: if past reports are anything to go by, Li's concerts tend to attract swarms of dipster houchebags, if you catch our meaning. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, etc.
Peruse the complete Lykke Li itinerary (with European and Australian dates) at her MySpace.

It frustrates me to no end that virtually every good tour passes over Atlanta, and unfortunately, Lykke Li is no exception. C'mon! Dallas AND Austin? Those are in the same state! I clicked on this story thinking maybe they'd decided to add us to the return 2009 tour... no go.
Try living in Wyoming for awhile, my friend.
Having spent three magical months in the ATL, I can most definitely say that you guys out there are riding a steady gravy train of top-flight touring acts. Not to mention the lively local scene.
As the tune goes, just be thankful for what you got.
