MADtv canceled after current season

Rumors began circling yesterday that Fox's MADtv was about to get canned following its 14th season. And according to Defamer, the rumors are spot on.

"It's true," a highly-placed source tells the blog. "We're finishing out the season, then we're done."

Other than the anonymous statement, not a lot has developed on the story aside from various message board speculations.

Although the snark peddlers of the interwebs are surely sharpening their knives with cries of "I didn't realize it was still on the air," "That show should've been canceled years ago" and other things that are actually humorous, the folks at GIANT prefer to focus on the positive.
