Rosebuds, Submarines, many more pay tribute to The Cure

It just happens one day. All of a sudden, a band has been around long enough to put out its 13th studio album and get tribute paid to it in the same year. And then again in the next. It's not an easy feat to stay so productive for so many years (and inspire the same in so many others), but then neither is applying Robert Smith's make-up through it all. (We kid because we love, Bob!)

American Laundromat Records will put out Just Like Heaven: A Tribute to the Cure featuring covers by New Zealand twee group The Brunettes and a variety of coupled pop-duos, including The Submarines, The Rosebuds and former Luna members Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips. The Wedding Present, Tanya Donelly & Dylan in the Movies, Elk City, Devics, Grand Duchy (Violet Clark & Black Francis), Joy Zipper, The Poems and others round out the sixteen artists on the album.

Just Like Heaven will hit stores on Jan. 27. Listen to clips of all songs here or stream full-length tracks here.

Manimal Vinyl's Perfect As Cats: A Tribute to The Cure already hit stores Oct. 28.
