Bid on memorabilia from Wilco, Andrew Bird and more at Rock For Kids auction

Want to kick around a soccer ball signed by Rod Stewart, jam out on a signed replica of B.B. King’s Lucille guitar, or win a spot as a character in an upcoming Midway Games release? Or maybe a Blackhawks jersey signed by The Cure, accompanied by tickets to a game and a Zamboni ride, is more your style? You've got a chance to win it all at tonight’s 20th Annual Rock For Kids Rock & Roll Charity, held at Park West. It should be a night of exciting bidding: Last year, a meet-and-greet with Hannah Montana raised $43,000.

Whether you’re stumped for that holiday present for the rock ‘n’ roller in your life, or want to add to your own rock memorabilia collection, the auction offers a range of items, with opening bids ranging from $20 to $50,000. From Chicago heroes such as Wilco, Andrew Bird and Barack Obama, to indie rockers The Decemberists and The Arcade Fire and every genre and rockstar status in-between, the auction collection spans the musical landscape with some 200 artists featured.

The auction begins at 7 p.m. VIP Bash tickets include complimentary cocktails and hor d’oeuvres and it it kicks off at 6 p.m. Those unable to attend the event can also bid online. All proceeds from the event benefit Rock For Kids, a non-profit organization that provides support, hope, inspiration and assistance to underserved children and teens. Realizing that music can be a positive motivator in a young person's life, Rock For Kids provides free year-round music education for children in need.
