Samantha Crain to drop Songs in the Night in April

December 16, 2008  |  8:00am
April 28, 2009, will see the release of Songs in the Night, the full-length debut of Paste Best of What Next artist Samantha Crain, on North Carolina's Ramseur Records.

As a follow-up to last July's Confiscation EP, 22-year-old Oklahoma native recorded the LP's 12 tracks in five days at Asheville, N.C.'s Echo Mountain Studios along with her Midnight Shivers band. Danny Kadar, who's helmed sessions with My Morning Jacket, Grizzly Bear and the Avett Brothers, produced.

Songs's “Get the Fever Out” is now streaming on Crain's MySpace and website (along with a few Confiscation tracks, if you've not yet had the chance to let them charm the Americana-lovin' pants off of you.)

Crain will wrap up 2008 with a few Texas tour dates, and we're betting there are more on the way for early 2009. If you're into planning ahead, she's already on tap for a few summer festivals, but if you can't wait to see her live, check out her and the Midnight Shivers' recent performance of The Confiscation's “The River,” live at Paste.
