Shia LaBeouf signs on for John Grisham adaptation
As is the custom for a young actor on his way up, Shia LaBeouf has agreed to star in The Associate, the latest film adaptation of a John Grisham novel.
The novel, which isn’t published until January, follows a man about to
graduate from Yale Law School who becomes involved in some inevitably shady
business with an expensive lawsuit. Grisham’s ceaselessly popular
works are favorites for film producers, who have turned them into
high-profile hit movies like The Firm, A Time to Kill and The Client.
LaBeouf, meanwhile, has had possibly the best year of his career. He passed his biggest audition yet in front of a national audience in Indiana
Jones and helped elevate Eagle
Eye from a hokey crypto-technology thriller into one of the fall’s
event movies. He also has a Transformers sequel on the way.
