Todd Rundgren is reuniting with the New York Dolls for their as-yet untitled 2009 release. Work will begin next month at his studio in Kauai, and the disc will be released through the revamped Atco label.
Rundgren, a prolific producer, last worked with the Dolls 36 years ago for their self-titled debut release. NME reports that the band will follow up the LP with a world tour.
"We're really excited to be working with Todd again," frontman David Johansen said in a statement. "We're hoping to recapture the same magic on the forthcoming album [that was on the debut]."
Rundgren is also currently on tour in support of his solo release Arena and will appear on David Letterman on Dec. 22.

hey, how about a featured article on Todd Rundgren in Paste mag? or at least an album review of his new release, Arena!!
I don't know about any review except to say that I saw Todd perform Arena at Blender on 12/26/08 and he and the band were amazing! Todd is probably the most under rated performer/producer in the music business today and yesterday. The hard rock sound and vocals were top notch. This guy only gets better with age like fine wine...only he does't get tired...that man has more energy than most 20 year olds I know. Tremendous and professional. I loved it!
