The leaks just keep coming for NBC's upcoming "mockumentary" directed by The Office execs Greg Daniels and Mike Schur and starring Amy Poehler. As previously reported, it is officially not an Office spin-off, despite shared producers, a similar plot-line and the presence of ex-Office star Rashida Jones.
Poehler will play Leslie Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat in the Department of Parks and Recreation, who tries to advance her career and aid friend and local nurse (Jones) by turning a construction pit into a park. Like her mockumentary colleague, Michael Scott, Knope suffers from a tragi-comic lack of self-awareness which induces slight megalomania. Her eventual goal throughout the series: to become the first female president of the United States.
Aziz Ansari and Aubrey Plaza will also be joining the cast, as Knope's less-than-ethical colleague and un-motivated intern, respectively. The series, still called "The Untitled Amy Poehler Project" by Schur, starts production in February, and should be on the air in 2009.

Um, ok? Sounds... confusing. A female version of Michael, but bureaucratic, and outside a lot? Errr, sure. Actually, I hope they hurry up on that, now I really want to see what the heck that would look like...
